Data Warehousing is a subject-oriented, integrated, time-variant, and non-volatile collection of data in support of management's decision-making process. It includes both data management and data analysis technologies. The ultimate goal of data warehouse is to integrate enterprise-wide corporate data into a single repository from which users can easily run queries, produce reports, and perform analysis. Data warehousing requires the procesing of enormous amounts of data, and parallel DB technolgy. High performance computer will be a neccessary technology to offer a solution to provide the growth in performance. The research and development of data warehouse at RDC covers Metadata concept which will be mainly focused on XML and its management, Data mining (hollistic approach) to develop the analysis tools Open Archives, Back-up system, and Knowledge management system to be the application of all implemented technologies and tools.
